2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Performance

2012 Silverado HD Z71Here at Art Gamblin Motors we are so excited to be offering the 2012 Silverado HD. We understand active working lifestyles. And we know that our customers are looking for a truck with the power necessary to dominate any job, whether you’re hauling materials, towing cars or a boat, or just driving your Silverado down the freeway. The Silverado HD offers all of this with its power and simultaneously unparalleled fuel economy and reduced emissions.
The standard engine in the Silverado HD is the Vortec 6.0-liter V8. The Vortec offers 360 horsepower with variable valve timing, which increases power and fuel efficiency. The Silverado’s Vortec engine is now equipped standard with Flex fuel, which allows the Silverado to use E85 ethanol blend—a better change choice for the environment and American energy independence. The Vortec V8’s Hydra-Matic 6L90 heavy duty transmission is a 6-speed automatic transmission with tap-up tap-down manual shift capability and haul settings. This transmission easily provides smooth, efficient and strong shifting.2012 Silverado HD
The 2012 Silverado HD also offers an updated 6.6-liter Dynamic Duo Duramax turbocharged diesel V8 engine, available for all trim levels. This engine respresents the pinnacle of a time tested evolutionary process that began in 2000 when the original model of the Duramax diesel first debuted with GM in. Over one million of these engines have been put into service—that means the current diesel engine offered in the Silverado HD is time-tested and now improved to even higher levels of performance! The Duramax produces 397 horsepower and a stunning 765 lb-ft of torque! That means the Silverado HD’s Duramax engine produces the best in class power—no other heavy duty truck on the market can compete. The Durability and power of the Silverado HD’s turbo-diesel engine is improved by features such as oil pump flow increases, stronger piston design and increased piston support to name just a few of the many improved design elements. The improved Duramax diesel also has best in class start up times on par with a gas powered engine under all temperatures.
The Silverado’s turbo-diesel is not only very powerful and durable, but also highly efficient. The Silverado has a 36-gallon fuel tank with a traveling range of 680 miles with the diesel engine. That means the Silverado HD is capable of getting around 20 highway mpg! This means the Silverado HD offers substantially more fuel economy than other tucks in its class. Furthermore, the Silverado HD’s diesel engine is capable of running on biodiesel standard. Biodiesel is better for the environment than traditional gasoline and the Silverado’s competitors only offer this feature in limited expensive releases.2012 Silverado HD
The Duramax engine uses the excellent time-tested Allison 6-speed automatic transmission, with tap-up tap-down shift capability and a tow mode. The Allison transmission has sold over one million units. So, like the Duramax engine, the Allison transmission has stood the test of time and evolved into its current, highly impressive incarnation that increases fuel efficiency, power and handling. Excellent features that have long been offered by the Allison transmission, such as engine grade braking and power take off, have been maintained and improved in the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado HD.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Safety

2012 Silverado HDAt Art Gamblin Motors we understand that safety is a concern in any vehicle purchase. This is one of the many reasons why we are proud to offer the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado HD—because we know that the Silverado will meet and exceed your safety expectations. Chevrolets theory on safety involves a three pronged approach, offering safety protection before, during and after a collision. The Silverado HD offers excellent protection in all three of these vital areas.
During: The Silverado HD has a safety cage construction, which helps manage a crash. This is accomplished through the safety cages strong design and side door beams which maintains passenger space in the event of a crash. The Silverado HD also features seat belt pretensioners that prevent belt slack in case of a collision, while shoulder belts loosen slowly in order to best manage individuals in a crash. The Silverado comes standard with lower anchors and top tethers for child safety seats. This system ensures that children are safe and secure in the vehicle. Dual front airbags and rear-impact sensors are standard with the Silverado HD. In Silverado HD 2500 models head curtain and seat-mounted side-impact airbags are available. In the event of a rollover the head curtain airbags remain inflated longer to offer even more protection.2012 Silverado HDAfter: No other auto manufacturer comes close to the level of safety offered by GM vehicles after a collision. This is thanks to the OnStar system, which is standard on the Silverado HD. OnStar with its emergency crash response system, will send emergency personnel to your exact GPS coordinates after a crash. This means that if you are incapacitated and unable to call for help yourself, you will still have help on the way thanks to OnStar in your Chevrolet Silverado. Other systems offered by manufactures such as Ford and Toyota require a cell phone or an alert driver to call for help—not OnStar.
At Art Gamblin Motors, we know that the Chevy Silverado HD is the safest truck on the market—with many features to keep you safe before, during and after a collision. So we invite you to come test drive a new Chevrolet Silverado HD with us here in Enumclaw Washington and experience the Silverado HD’s high level of safety and drivability for yourself. 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Preventative Safety

2012 Silverado HD At Art Gamblin Motors we understand that safety is a concern in any vehicle purchase.
Before: Of course the best way to remain safe while driving is to avoid a collision in the first place. Where other auto manufactures simply point out this obvious fact; Chevrolet actively enhances its vehicles including the Silverado HD with many active safety features that are proven to really help you avoid a collision. To begin, all Chevy Silverado HD models include standard antilock braking, which prevents wheel lockup during braking. All single rear wheel models of the Silverado HD include standard StabiliTrak stability control systems. StabiliTrak uses high tech sensors to compare the drivers steering with the trucks actual course. If the Silverado doesn’t follow what the drivers intended course Silverado’s braking and traction control systems are automatically engaged to correct the course of the truck.2012 Silverado HDThe Silverado HD’s Trailer Sway Control System detects if the trucks trailer is swaying and immediately engages the truck’s brakes to correct both the truck and the trailer. Hill Start Assist is another feature of the Silverado HD. Hill Start Assist detects if the truck is on a steep grade. If it is, then the system keeps the truck’s brakes engaged for a few seconds or until the gas pedal is pressed. This prevents any potential rollback. The intelligent brake assist system is also used in the Silverado HD. This system detects emergency panic braking situations and automatically applies the truck’s full braking capability, even if the driver fails to engage the brakes fully by themselves.
Features such as roof marker lamps—standard on the Silverado HD 3500 dual wheel drive—the Silverado HD’s standard halogen headlamps and automatic daytime running lamps all work together to make the Silverado HD more visible; thus preventing possible collisions from other vehicles. Automatic lighting control and fog lamps are also available on the Silverado HD, making the truck even more visible while also increasing the driver’s visibility. The Silverado’s flat blade front windshield wipers with pulse washers help maintain clear driving visibility as well. Silverados are also equipped with interior rearview mirrors with manual day/night settings, auto dimming and available rearview camera systems. These effective mirrors greatly aid driver visibility. The Silverado’s Tire Pressure Information System monitors the tire pressure of each tire on the truck. If a tire is low on pressure a message is sent to the driver information system in the truck. This can help prevent safety issues related to low tire pressure. The Tire Pressure Information System is standard on all Silverado HD 2500 models.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Rear end Suspension

2012 Silverado HD At Art Gamblin Motors we are proud to offer the Silverado HD—a very powerful truck capable of hauling and towing massive payloads. At the same time the Silverado offers smooth and precise control even when towing and hauling. The HD also grants a very comfortable driving experience, even in the roughest conditions. Below is one of the many elements that come together to offer the stellar ride and handling of the 2012 Silverado HD.
Rear End Suspension: The Silverado HD offers an innovative symmetrical leaf spring rear suspension system that allows for greater payloads and reduced wheel hop when accelerating. The Silverado’s leaf springs have an extra wide design, which allow them to handle much more weight. The HD’s rear leaf springs are also asymmetrically designed. This means that the rear section of each spring is longer than the front section which allows them to handle the high torque output of the Silverado HD engine and effectively reduces axel hop. Chassis cab models of the HD still use a conventional non asymmetrical rear suspension—but still include wider springs. This superior new rear end suspension design allows the Silverado HD 2500 to carry 6,200 pounds of weight on its rear axel. The Silverado HD 3500 single rear wheel drive can carry 7,050 pounds on its rear suspension; the Silverado HD 3500 dually can carry 9,375 pounds on its rear end and finally the Silverado HD 3500 Chassis Cab can carry a whopping 9,750 pounds on its rear end!2012 Silverado HD At Art Gamblin Motors, we know that the Chevy Silverado HD is the most powerful and precise handling truck on the market—at an exceptional value. 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Design

2012 Silverado HD At Art Gamblin Motors in Enumclaw Washington we are proud to present the 2012 Chevy Silverado HD: the most excellent and high value truck in its class.
Quality: There are many features throughout the Chevy Silverado HD that indicate the extreme quality, reliability and durability of this truck. On the exterior of the Silverado HD, you can see the tight gaps throughout its body; which make the components such as the bumper and front grill fit together perfectly to help form one solid truck. The Silverado HD’s doors wrap down over its rockers giving the truck a sleek refined appearance; while the one piece body side conveys an overall cohesive strong quality. Even the space between the cab and truck bed is constant and precise. The rear wheel house and inner box side is one interconnected piece, further demonstrating the cohesive strong design of the Silverado HD. Inside of the Silverado HD you will find an overall finished and upscale interior that accurately depicts the HD’s impressive capacities.2012 Silverado HD Despite the fact that the Silverado HD has the greatest tow and haul capacity in its class, it still manages to offer a very quite comfortable ride. The Duramax engine has been redesigned to provide 30% quieter engine operation. In addition, enhanced engine, hydraulic and shock mounts serve to drastically reduce vibration and noise from the Silverado’s engine and also the road. Chevrolet went even further in reducing noise by the use of dash and floor sound dampening material, the cast foam interior dash mat; insulation in the transmission tunnel and at the rear of the cab. All of these extensive features result in a remarkably smooth and quite drive experience—even under extreme, work conditions.2012 Silverado HD Z71Durability: The Chevy Silverado HD is built to last. Its chassis has been tested under tough conditions and has proven that it can last for over 400,000 miles. The Duramax engine used in the Silverado HD has been a proven workhorse for over a decade. Furthermore, over 1.3 million Duramax engines have been produced, proving that it is a solid dependable engine. However, Chevrolet didn’t just rely on the Duramax’s stellar reputation and record when choosing it for the Silverado HD. Chevy tested the Duramax under conditions that the engine would be under if an owner towed the maximum weight allowable 95% of the time. The result of this test was an engine capable of functioning well under this strain for over 200,000 miles!2012 Silverado HD The fact that the Chevrolet Silverado is such a durable high quality vehicle causes many to be surprised when they find out that Chevy offers all of this at such an outstanding value. The reality is that the cost of ownership for a Chevy Silverado HD is exceptionally low for the quality and dependability it offers. Chevrolet has been able to offer such a low cost of ownership on such a quality truck for many reasons. The Silverado’s impressive fuel economy is a big factor in its low cost of ownership. Silverado features such as OnStar diagnostics and the Oil Life system make it easy to keep your Silverado well maintained, resulting in a longer truck life at a lower cost. High quality parts such as the 100,000-mile iridium spark plugs used in the Silverado HD also contribute to its impressive value.2012 Silverado HD

Another significant factor in the Silverado HD’s exceptional value is the fact that it is backed by the Chevrolet Warranty—the best warranty in America. You are given tremendous value and piece of mind with 5 year 100,000-mile powertrain coverage with roadside assistance and courtesy transportation. In addition the Silverado HD is covered by Chevrolet’s 6 year 100,000-mile corrosion warranty. When you compare this to Fords inferior 5 year 60,000-mile powertrain warranty and its corrosion warranty that is a full year shorter than Chevy’s—it’s easy to see how Chevrolet offers the absolute best quality and value in the Silverado HD.
At Art Gamblin Motors, we know that the Chevy Silverado HD offers the highest quality, durability and reliability of any truck in its segment. So we invite you to come test drive a new Chevrolet Silverado HD with us here in Enumclaw Washington and experience the Silverado HD’s high level of performance and value for yourself. 2012 Ford F-Super Duty vs 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty

Silverado HD vs Ford F-350 Superduty

we are aware that we sell nothing less than the best heavy duty trucks on the market here at Chevrolet Sumner, hands down. Though ford continues to try and compete with Chevy, they fail time and time again. The Ford F-Super Duty vs. the Silverado HD is the perfect example.  The Silverado HD has greater power, performance, handling, safety and functionality. Below is simply a brief sampling of some of the ways the Chevrolet Silverado HD dominates the Ford F-Super Duty:

Safety: For additional protection, the front shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Silverado HD are height-adjustable, and the rear seats have child car seat anchors. The Ford F-Super Duty has only front height-adjustable seat belts and child safety anchors. The Silverado HD’s standard pretensioning seatbelts sense rear collisions and tighten the front seatbelts as to protect passengers from injuries including whiplash. The F-Super Duty doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system. The Chevrolet Silverado HD has Daytime Running Lights that keep it visible under all conditions. The F-Super Duty decided not to offer Daytime Running Lights. These are just a few of the superior safety features in the Silverado HD that the Super Duty fails to provide.

Warranty: Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Silverado HD 40,000 miles longer than Ford covers the F-Super Duty! The Silverado HD’s corrosion warranty is also one year longer than the F-Super Duty’s. Clearly Chevrolet is more confident in the quality and durability of the Silverado HD than Ford is of its F-Super Duty.

Fuel Economy and Range The Silverado HD has 10 gallons more fuel capacity than the F-Super Duty Diesel Short Bed’s standard fuel tank! The Chevrolet Silverado HD also has much higher fuel economy compared to the Ford Super Duty. The combination of a much bigger gas tank and better fuel efficiency allows the Silverado to out work the Super Duty for much longer, while the Ford requires more frequent stops to refuel.

Drivetrain: The Silverado HD has a authentic four-wheel drive system, which uses a four-wheel traction control system to direct engine power to the specific axle and wheel that has traction. This will keep your Silverado HD keep up and running—even if only one wheel has traction! The F-Super Duty doesn’t have real four-wheel drive. The Ford can effortlessly get stuck, despite having one or more wheels with traction. The Silverado HD also has a great deal more standard payload capacity than the F-Super Duty. The Crew Cab Silverado HD 3500 4×4 has a payload capacity of 4,190 pounds compared to the Ford Super Duty’s greatly reduced 3,260 pounds of payload capacity! That means the Silverado HD can get work done that the Super Duty just can’t handle.

Suspension and Handling: The Chevrolet Silverado HD’s independent front suspension is lighter than the F-Super Duty 4×4’s solid front axle. This gives the Silverado HD greater capacity to react to the road. This makes both the ride and handling of the Chevy better than the Ford. For an even smoother ride and better handling the Silverado HD’s wheelbase is longer than the F-Super Duty’s.

Brakes and Stopping For better stopping power, the F-Super Duty’s rotors hail in comparison to the Silverado HD’s standard brake rotors. The Silverado HD’s superior rotor size and other factors allow it to stop shorter and faster than the F-Super Duty.

Tires and Wheels: The Silverado HD offers tires with better handling because they have a lower profile that gives a stiffer sidewall than the F-Super Duty’s optional tires.

Interior: The Silverado HD Regular Cab has more front headroom and more front legroom than the F-Super Duty Regular Cab. The Silverado HD Extended Cab also has more front head and leg room well as more rear head and leg room than the F-Super Duty SuperCab. The Silverado HD Crew Cab has more front room than the F-Super Duty SuperCrew. Thus, the Chevy Silverado HD is the more specious and comfortable choice than the Ford Super Duty. The Silverado HD has an all welded cargo box as opposed to the Ford Super Duty’s bolted cargo box. This means that the Silverado HD has a hugely reduced chance of having rust and corrosion throughout its life than the F-Super Duty

Convenience: When the Silverado HD LTZ reverses, both rearview mirrors tilt from their positions giving the driver better rearview vision. The F-Super Duty’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust when backing up. The Silverado HD LTZ has standard automatic dimming rear and side view mirrors that automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them. The F-Super Duty’s side mirrors don’t dim.

Awards: The Silverado was chosen as one of Car and Driver’s “Top Five Trucks” for 4 years! The F-Super Duty has never been a Car and Driver “Top Five Truck” pick. Motor Trend selected the Silverado as their 2011 Truck of the Year. The F-Super Duty has never been chosen as Truck of the Year.

Here at Art Gamblin Motors, we know that the Chevy Silverado HD is simply unparalleled in its territory of heavy duty trucks.
