2013 Chevrolet Malibu Interior Tacoma Cars

Here at Art Gamblin Motors, your Tacoma Chevrolet Dealer, we are excited about the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu—a vehicle that delivers outstanding performance, quality, efficiency, safety and stellar style coupled with an innovative design. The 2013 Malibu features stunning interior style, design, comfort and convenience. The 2013 Malibu’s all-new dual-cockpit interior takes design and execution to a new level in terms of detail sophistication and use of premium materials:

• Dual-cockpit design updates signature Chevrolet design theme.

• Instrument panel flows into the doors to enhance perceptual width and spaciousness. It includes a black, molded-in-color decorative band with a chrome accent that integrates the front outboard HVAC vents and adds to the sense of spaciousness.

• Integrated center stack sweeps forward and away from front occupants.

• Animated instrument cluster (needles sweep at ignition) with Driver Information Center is positioned under a tight hood to provide a glare-free, sport-oriented appearance.

• Premium soft-touch materials and low-gloss surfaces are used throughout to provide a refined, upscale appearance.

• Flat woven cloth, leatherette and cloth combination or Meridian leather-surfaced seating ensures a premium appearance and high perceptual quality in all trim levels.

• Larger knobs and graphics along with intuitively-placed controls enhance occupant ergonomics and help make driver and passengers feel more comfortable.

• Signature Chevrolet ice-blue lighting illuminates control knobs and storage areas. Ambient IP and door lighting uses light-pipe technology to ensure even, consistent illumination on Eco, LT and LTZ.

Roominess

The 2013 Malibu is nearly 3″ wider inside than the previous model. This translates into:

• Nearly 4 cu. ft. more total interior volume.

• Over 1.5″ more front shoulder room; 3.2″ more rear shoulder room.

• 2″ more hip room in front; 2.2″ more in rear.

• More than 1 cu. ft. additional usable trunk capacity:

16.3 cu. ft. (LS, LT, LTZ; 13.2 on Eco).

Comfortable Seats

Malibu’s all-new sport-sculpted seats have benefited from extensive ride validations around the globe. Key talking points:

• Highly bolstered for long-distance comfort.

• Segment-leading seat travel: Over 10.5″ of fore-aft travel; more than 2.5″ of height adjustment. In combination with Malibu’s standard tilt and telescoping steering column, all drivers can find the perfect driving position.

• Firmer durometer foam and frames made of high-strength steel put Malibu’s seats at the top of the segment in comfort and durability.

• Overall seat construction is both stronger and lighter (by about 10%) compared to traditional seat structures. Seats are also over 0.5″ slimmer than before, providing additional rear knee and leg room.

Improved Ergonomics

Grip, reach and hand clearance characteristics have been optimized through 3-dimensional computer modeling and human testing. Key talking points:

• Center stack control knobs upsized approximately 15% for easy 3-finger access and feel. Rubberized radius with inset chrome enhances tactile feel and grip.

• Enlarged instrument panel fonts and symbols for easier reading.

• Roomier hand, elbow and shoulder zones.

• World-class shifter zone with proper hand clearance for cup access, storage access and shifting.

• Optimized foot pedal spacing that allows comfortable foot-to-pedal transfers regardless of shoe size or style.

• The three-point steering wheel tilts and telescopes and includes redundant audio and cruise controls as well as controls for OnStar and Bluetooth.

• 4″ graphic interface display (LS) or articulating 7″ touch screen full-color radio display in the integrated center stack (Eco, LT, LTZ).

• Power outlets in center console and on the IP.

• Auxiliary input jack and USB port (Eco, LT, LTZ) in center console.

• Telematic displays are computer-positioned to provide glare-free information display in all lighting conditions.

• Pin light in overhead console illuminates the center console.

• Automatic on/off headlamp system.

• Electric parking brake is engaged by the pull of a button on the center console; automatically disengages with the push of a button or when the accelerator is pressed.

Great Storage

• Generously-sized illuminated glovebox.

• Storage bin in lower IP on driver’s side large enough for wallet or cell phone (Eco, LT, LTZ).

• Hidden storage behind articulating 7″ touch-screen display on integrated center stack (Eco, LT, LTZ).

• Map pockets in all four doors with integrated holders large enough for liter-size beverage bottles.

• Center console storage.

• “Saddle bag” storage on both sides of center console.

• Dual and removable (to increase storage) cup holders in center console (Eco, LT, LTZ).

• Overhead compartment for sunglasses.

• Rear armrest with dual cup holders and storage.

• One of the largest trunks in the segment: 16.3 cu. ft. (13.2 on Eco).

• Split-folding rear seatback for additional cargo capacity (LTZ shown).
