Nissan Versa vs 2013 Chevrolet Spark Buckley Cars

2013 Chevrolet Spark

Here at Art Gamblin Motors, your Buckley car dealer, we are very excited about Chevrolet’s new mini car: The all-new 2013 Spark! The Spark dominates the mini car segment with more available features, outstanding value and solid performance. This fact is clearly evident when comparing the Chevrolet Spark to the Nissan Versa:

The 2012 Nissan Versa is available as an all-new 4-door Sedan or as a carryover 5-door hatchback. Since the current hatchback is near the end model run and will be redesigned later this year, our comparison is  against the new sedan. The Versa Sedan is available in three models: S, SV and SL. All Versa models share the same 1.6L DOHC 4-cylinder engine. Transmission choices are limited to a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic. Unlike the Chevrolet Spark, the Versa is not a mini car, but rather a larger subcompact. It competes against Spark by virtue of its price.

Chevrolet Spark advantages vs. Nissan Versa S Sedan

• Fresh 5-door body style. All Chevrolet Sparks are 4-door hatchbacks. The 2012 Versa hatchback is an old model that is about to be replaced. If you want an updated Versa, you must settle for a 4-door sedan.

• Standard alloy wheels on all models. All Spark models have standard alloy wheels regardless of trim level. The Nissan Versa S and SV models have standard steel wheels with wheel covers.

• Available Hill Start Assist. Both of Spark’s transmissions include a Hill Start Assist feature. This feature is not available with Nissan Versa.

• More front leg room. Spark has more front leg room than Nissan Versa.

• Standard OnStar. Spark’s standard OnStar telematics system provides a suite of services including Automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Vehicle Diagnostics and much more. A telematics system is not available on Nissan Versa.

• MyLink Radio. Nissan Versa has nothing comparable to Spark’s MyLink Radio with its embedded apps.

• OnStar RemoteLink. Spark owners can check on their vehicle diagnostics, lock/unlock their doors and do much more from anywhere they have mobile phone service. OnStar RemoteLink takes connectivity a step further by delivering real-time vehicle information at your fingertips. Since Nissan Versa lacks a telematics system, it cannot perform tasks comparable to RemoteLink.

• Standard satellite radio. Satellite radio, with three months’ service included, is standard on Spark 1LT. Satellite radio is not available on Nissan Versa S or SV models. To get satellite radio on Nissan Versa, you must move up to the top-of-the-line SL model and purchase a pricey Tech package.

• More speakers. Chevrolet Spark 1LT includes six

audio speakers. The Nissan Versa S includes only

two speakers.

• Bluetooth for phone and audio. Spark 1LT features Bluetooth for both phone and audio. Bluetooth is not offered on Nissan Versa S. To get Bluetooth on Versa, you must move up to SV model and purchase a convenience package or purchase the SL model.

• Superior connectivity. A USB port is included on Spark 1LT. A USB port is not available on Versa S or SV models. To get a USB port on Versa, you must move up to SL model and purchase a Tech package.

• Superior warranty peace of mind. The Versa’s 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty can’t compete with the Spark’s 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

• Emergency roadside assistance. Spark owners receive the peace of mind of emergency roadside assistance for five years. Roadside assistance is not available with Versa.

• More air bags. All Spark models have 10 standard air bags. Nissan Versa has six air bags.

• Theft prevention. An engine immobilizer is standard on Spark; not available on Versa.

• Oil Life Monitor. This feature is not offered on Nissan Versa.

• Outside temperature display. All Spark models include a standard outside temperature display. This feature is not available on Versa S.

2012 Chevrolet Volt vs Nissan Leaf

2012 Chevrolet Sonic vs Nissan Leaf The Nissan Leaf is an all electric, 5-door hatchback. Because the Leaf doesn’t use any kind of range extender like the Chevrolet Volt—the driver must carefully plan their routine around the Leaf’s 73 mile range. Otherwise the driver of a Leaf will find themselves stranded.  The Leaf comes is two trim packages: SV and SL.

Power and Performance: The Chevrolet Volt is rated at 149 horsepower whereas the Nissan Leaf has only 107 horsepower making a 42 horsepower difference! The Volt also produces 66 lb.-ft more maximum torque than the Leaf! The Volt has superior steering over the Leaf as a result of the power steering being mounted directly to the steering rack. The Leaf has nothing similar to this. Range anxiety is not a concern with the Volt’s impressive 379 mile driving range as opposed to the Leaf’s maximum driving range of 73 miles. The Battery of the volt is cooled using a liquid thermal system superior to the Leaf’s air cooled battery. The Volt also charges twice as fast as the Leaf using a 120V charger! The Leaf comes with 16” wheels as opposed to the Volts standard 17” wheels. The Chevy Volt also has top speeds of 100 mph which is 10 more mph than the Leaf’s top speed! 2012 Chevrolet Volt

Safety: The Chevrolet Volt has 8 airbags standard versus the Leaf which only has 6 airbags and no front-knee protection. The Volt has automatic daytime running lamps and OnStar automatic crash response—the Leaf has nothing similar to these features. TheThe Chevrolet Volt weighs 400 pounds more than the Nissan Leaf. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that heavier vehicles are significantly faster than their lighter counterparts. This is one of many factors that have allowed the Volt to easily achieve higher crash test safety ratings than the Nissan Leaf by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Quality, Reliability and Durability: The Volt comes with free roadside assistance. Nissan doesn’t offer any free roadside assistance for the Leaf. Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Volt 40,000 miles longer than Nissan covers the Leaf. The Volt’s corrosion warranty is also 1 year longer than the Leaf’s. Also an important consideration for Chevrolet’s superior warranty is that there are nearly 4 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Nissan dealers, making it much easier to get warranty work done on the Volt than the Leaf. Furthermore, a J.D. Power and Associates’ 2011 survey shows Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Nissan vehicles in initial and long-term quality and reliability.

Awards: Consumer Reports recommends the Chevrolet Volt, based on reliability, safety and performance. The Volt was chosen as one of Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” in 2011, while the Leaf has never made this list. Motor Trend selected the Volt as their 2011 Car of the Year, an award the Leaf has never received. The Volt was chosen by Automobile Magazine as their 2011 Car of the Year. The Leaf has never received this award.

We are all convinced at Art Gamblin Motors that the Chevrolet Volt absolutely outperforms the Nissan Leaf in every way. But we invite you to come see this for yourself by test-driving a new Chevy Volt with us in Enumclaw Washington. You can’t find a friendlier pressure-free sales environment than Art Gamblin Motors. 2012 Chevrolet Sonic vs Nissan Versa

2012 Chevrolet Sonic vs Nissan Versa The Nissan Versa is a 4-door Sedan available in three trim levels: S, SV and SL. Regardless of the particular model, the Versa has the same 1.6L DOHC 4-cylinder engine, offering only 109 horsepower. The Versa has two transmission options: a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic.

2012 Chevrolet Sonic Style: The Nissan is available as only a sedan. The Sonic comes as a sedan or a hatchback. The largest available wheel size in the Versa is 15” and comes standard in steel. The Sonic has 15, 16 or 17 inch wheels available and comes standard in superior aluminum-alloy.

2012 Chevrolet Sonic Power and Performance: The Versa offers only the 1.6L engine, which produces 29 less horsepower than both the ECOTEC 1.8L and 1.4L engines. Both of the Sonic’s available engines also offer more torque at a faster rate than the Versa.  The Sonic is also the only vehicle in its segment to offer a turbo engine. The Versa is limited to either 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic. The Sonic offers a 5-speed or 6-speed manual as well as a 6 speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission of the Sonic also has manual shift capabilities and the Nissan Vera’s CVT automatic does not. The Sonic’s transmissions all use hill holder technology to assist shifting while on steep grades. The Vera does not offer this feature. The Sonic has a 12.2 gallon fuel capacity and a greater fuel range than the Versa’s 10.8 gallon fuel tank. 2012 Chevrolet Sonic vs Nissan Versa
Interior: The Sonic has over 5” of additional hip room and over an inch of additional head room in its back seats compared to the Nissan Versa. The Versa also has less shoulder room in the front and back seats than the Chevrolet Sonic. The Sonic’s steering wheel is telescopic as well as tilting for maximum comfort. The Versa’s steering column only tilts. Heated seats are available in the Sonic, but not the Versa.

Connectivity: The Chevy Sonic offers an entire suite of OnStar services including turn-by-turn directions, hands free calling and remote diagnostics of your vehicle—just to name a few of OnStar’s features. The Versa offers no equivalent to this. The Sonic offers remote start options—the Versa does not. Satellite radio is standard on the Sonic—it is optional on the Versa.

Quality, Reliability and Durability: The Sonic is the only subcompact car manufactured in America. The Versa is imported from Mexico. The Chevy Sonic’s warranty offers 40,000 additional miles of powertrain coverage, emergency roadside assistance, and courtesy transportation. The Versa offers far less powertrain coverage and no roadside assitence or courtesy transportation.

Safety: The Chevrolet Sonic has an impressive 10 airbags and has rear power child safety locks. The Versa has only 6 airbags and does not offer child safety locks comprable to the Sonic. We at Art Gamblin Motors are confident that the Chevrolet Sonic is unequivocally superior to the Nissan Versa.

So we invite you to come test drive a new Sonic with us here in Enumclaw Washington and experience the difference for yourself. Seattle Auto Show 2010

The Seattle Auto Show was a blast.  There was a great showing from all the major manufactures.  They even had the flying car from Harry Potter!  Cars don’t get much better than that.  Instead of posting a million pictures of what we thought was cool we brought our flip camera with us to show you around some of our favorites.  Of course we are biased and thought the GM vehicles were the best but there was some cool things that we liked.  Here is a top 10 list of the cars and things we liked about the 2010 Seattle Auto Show.

10.  Scion Booth – with the music pumping it was a cool area of the show

9. Nissan Leaf

8. Audi R8 Spyder

7. The Chevrolet Volt – The 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year – CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO OF THE VOLT

6. 2011 Buick Regal CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO OF THE BUICK REGAL

5.  Cut in half Subaru

4.  2011 CTS-V CoupeCLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO OF THE CTS-V COUPE

3. The free hats that Toyota gave  out

2. Cadillac Exhibit – Cadillac has some good looking vehicles!

1. GM Drive Option – GM had a dozen or so vehicles in the parking garage where you could go out and test drive a vehicle that was in the auto show.  I thought this was a clever idea and it was very popular as there was a long line of people trying to get themselve behind a new GM vehicle.
