They join a growing portfolio of special-edition trucks whose popularity helped Chevrolet truck sales increase 27 percent last year – double the increase for the total truck market.

The new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 brings muscular designs and new customer-focused technologies to the most dependable, longest-lasting family of full-size pickups on the road. “Chevrolet builds trucks that meet the needs and wants of all drivers,” said Alan Gamblin. “Our customers will appreciate the focus on design, performance and technology that went into this truck and reflect the Silverado’s strength and reliability.”

Other changes for 2016 will include expanded use of 8-speed automatic transmissions, updated available Chevy MyLink with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and additional safety technologies.

Advanced lighting allowed Chevrolet designers to create more expressive forms, integrating the lights into the sweeping horizontal elements and deep grille inserts. Turn signals and brake lamps wrap around the corners of the truck for a more streamlined look.

The new designs provide a unique look for each Silverado trim level, and let customers chose a look that more closely fits their personalities. The muscular front end designs also feature a dramatically sculpted hood that helps give the new Silverado the strong presence that differentiates full-size pickups from other types of vehicles.

Silverado customers are among the top users of the connectivity offered by available OnStar and 4G LTE Wi-Fi. For 2016, Silverado will be available with support for Apple CarPlay, which projects select iPhone features (iPhone 5 and later) on the available MyLink display in a smart, simple manner.

This integration of phone and vehicle allows drivers to make calls, send and receive messages and listen to music from the touchscreen or by voice via Siri, helping drivers keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Silverado models with the available 7-inch color MyLink also will support Android Auto.

The new 2016 Silverado 1500 offers safety features such as Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist and IntelliBeam high beam assist. The 2016 Silverado is also available with a remote locking tailgate for convenience and security.

The new 2016 Silverado 1500 builds on the legacy of the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickups on the road. Silverado features a fully boxed high-strength steel frame and a body structure that make extensive use of high strength steels, as well as roll-formed steel beds, which are stronger and lighter than conventional steel.

Customers can choose from three advanced EcoTec3 engines. They build on the legacy of Chevrolet small block truck engines, while incorporating advanced features to enhance power and efficiency. All three engines feature direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation, also known as Active Fuel Management, for improved power and efficiency. All switch to four-cylinder mode under light-load conditions. Silverado’s standard 4.3L V-6 is SAE certified at 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, the most torque of any standard V-6. The 5.3L V-8 is certified at 355-horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Offering an EPA highway estimate of 23 mpg, it is the most fuel efficient V-8 in any pickup. Silverado’s available 6.2L V-8 is certified at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, the most power and torque of any light-duty pickup. This engine also offers the highest towing of any V-8 light-duty pickup, up to 12,000 pounds.

For 2016, the new 8-speed automatic transmission that is standard on 6.2L-equipped Silverados will be standard on LTZ, LTZ/Z71 and High Country Silverados with the 5.3L V-8. The new 8-speed provides a numerically higher first gear ratio to help drivers start off more confidently with a heavy load or when trailering. Its wider overall gear ratio spread also enables numerically lower rear axle ratios, which reduce engine rpm on the highway.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 Preventative Safety

2012 Silverado HD At Art Gamblin Motors we understand that safety is a concern in any vehicle purchase. This is one of the many reasons why we are proud to offer the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado HD—because we know that the Silverado will meet and exceed your safety expectations. Chevrolets theory on safety involves a three pronged approach, offering safety protection before, during and after a collision. The Silverado HD offers excellent protection in all three of these vital areas.
Before: Of course the best way to remain safe while driving is to avoid a collision in the first place. Where other auto manufactures simply point out this obvious fact; Chevrolet actively enhances its vehicles including the Silverado HD with many active safety features that are proven to really help you avoid a collision. To begin, all Chevy Silverado HD models include standard antilock braking, which prevents wheel lockup during braking. All single rear wheel models of the Silverado HD include standard StabiliTrak stability control systems. StabiliTrak uses high tech sensors to compare the drivers steering with the trucks actual course. If the Silverado doesn’t follow what the drivers intended course Silverado’s braking and traction control systems are automatically engaged to correct the course of the truck.2012 Silverado HDThe Silverado HD’s Trailer Sway Control System detects if the trucks trailer is swaying and immediately engages the truck’s brakes to correct both the truck and the trailer. Hill Start Assist is another feature of the Silverado HD. Hill Start Assist detects if the truck is on a steep grade. If it is, then the system keeps the truck’s brakes engaged for a few seconds or until the gas pedal is pressed. This prevents any potential rollback. The intelligent brake assist system is also used in the Silverado HD. This system detects emergency panic braking situations and automatically applies the truck’s full braking capability, even if the driver fails to engage the brakes fully by themselves.
Features such as roof marker lamps—standard on the Silverado HD 3500 dual wheel drive—the Silverado HD’s standard halogen headlamps and automatic daytime running lamps all work together to make the Silverado HD more visible; thus preventing possible collisions from other vehicles. Automatic lighting control and fog lamps are also available on the Silverado HD, making the truck even more visible while also increasing the driver’s visibility. The Silverado’s flat blade front windshield wipers with pulse washers help maintain clear driving visibility as well. Silverados are also equipped with interior rearview mirrors with manual day/night settings, auto dimming and available rearview camera systems. These effective mirrors greatly aid driver visibility. The Silverado’s Tire Pressure Information System monitors the tire pressure of each tire on the truck. If a tire is low on pressure a message is sent to the driver information system in the truck. This can help prevent safety issues related to low tire pressure. The Tire Pressure Information System is standard on all Silverado HD 2500 models.

2012 Silverado 1500 Safety kent Cars

At Art Gamblin Motors we understand that safety is a concern in any vehicle purchase. This is one of the many reasons why we are proud to offer the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado—because we know that the Silverado will meet and exceed your safety expectations. Chevrolets theory on safety involves a three pronged approach, offering safety protection before, during and after a collision. The Silverado offers excellent protection in all three of these vital areas. The Silverado has a safety cage construction, which helps manage a crash. This is accomplished through the safety cages strong design and side door beams which maintains passenger space in the event of a crash. The Silverado also features seat belt pretensioners that prevent belt slack in case of a collision, while shoulder belts loosen slowly in order to best manage individuals in a crash. The Silverado comes standard with lower anchors and top tethers for child safety seats. This system ensures that children are safe and secure in the vehicle. Dual front airbags and rear-impact sensors are standard with the Silverado. In Silverado 2500 models head curtain and seat-mounted side-impact airbags are available. In the event of a rollover the head curtain airbags remain inflated longer to offer even more protection. No other auto manufacturer comes close to the level of safety offered by GM vehicles after a collision. This is thanks to the OnStar system, which is standard on the Silverado. OnStar with its emergency crash response system, will send emergency personnel to your exact GPS coordinates after a crash. This means that if you are incapacitated and unable to call for help yourself, you will still have help on the way thanks to OnStar in your Chevrolet Silverado. Other systems offered by manufactures such as Ford and Toyota require a cell phone or an alert driver to call for help—not OnStar.
