Celebrate the 125th Washington State Fair! – Puyallup, WA

Today marks the start of a historic tradition—the 125th Washington State Fair at the Puyallup Fairgrounds! Running from August 29 through September 21, this milestone celebrates a century and a quarter of thrills, nostalgia, and community spirit in our home state of Washington. Known affectionately as “Doin’ the Puyallup,” this fair has grown into the largest in the Pacific Northwest, drawing well over a million visitors. Recently, ranked the third most popular in the country!

What’s New & What to Expect in 2025

  • Opening-night Drone & Fireworks Spectacular — Witness a mesmerizing drone show forming images like Big “W,” farm animals, and more, followed by dazzling fireworks—one night only—followed by fireworks every Friday at 10 p.m.
  • Self-Guided Walking Tours App — Explore six themed tours such as history, sweets & treats, family-friendly, and murals & photo ops—all free with admission.
  • “Our Food, Our Farms, Our Washington” Exhibit — A free, immersive exhibit celebrating 125 years of Washington’s agricultural heritage.
  • The Farm at SillyVille — A charming, interactive farm play area where kids can sort apples, pollinate flowers, ride mini tractors, and more—free fun for little ones.
  • Animal Exhibits with Live Calf Births — Watch baby calves being born and chat with knowledgeable staff about animal husbandry—free and educational.
  • The ‘Classic Coaster’ Turns 90 — This legendary wooden roller coaster remains a thrill-seeker favorite.
  • New Food Hall & Rooftop Bar — Indulge in gourmet fair eats at the new 1900 Food Hall & Rooftop Bar, featuring elevated dishes and a vibrant setting.
  • Renovated Gold Gate Entrance — Be welcomed through the refreshed entrance complete with a water feature and a gleaming “W” — photo op-worthy
  • The Extreme Scream — A Daring Drop from the tallest structure in Puyallup! All thrill seekers must try this nearly 3-G’s of force & 20-story ride in the air!

Opening Weekend Specials

Friday, Aug. 29 – KOMO’s Opening Day Food Drive – FREE gate admission for all ages 10:30am – 12:30pm, with a suggested non-perishable food donation to benefit the Puyallup Food Bank. Sponsored by Darigold and Puyallup Chocolates.

Friday, Aug. 29 – Monday, Sept. 1– BECU Free Kids Weekend – FREE admission for kids, ages 18 and under, courtesy of BECU.

Every Monday – Military Appreciation Day – FREE admission for all active, reserve, and retired military and National Guard and their dependents, plus disabled veterans, when each shows valid military ID at any Fair gate.

Friday, Sept. 5 – School Supply Drive – FREE gate admission for all ages 10:30am – 12:30pm, with a suggested new school supply donation to benefit Communities In Schools.

Rodeo Events — From rodeo breakfast and parades to PRCA Cinch Playoffs and Finals, there’s plenty of western flair on offer.
