Silverado Midnight Edition is the New Black

2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight special edition

Truck fans know that nothing adds presence to a pickup like basic black. And Chevrolet is taking black to the next level with the Silverado Midnight special edition, on display starting today at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco, and making its public debut February 14 at the Chicago Auto Show.

Beginning with a black Silverado Z71, the Midnight special edition adds:

  • An all-black front end with body-colored grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps;
  • Black side moldings and beltline moldings;
  • 18-inch black painted alloy wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires;
  • Special Z71 badges on the doors;
  • A spray-in bedliner (black, of course);
  • And the finishing touches – black Chevrolet bowties front and rear.

Like all 2015 Silverado 1500 Z71s, Midnight special editions include off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package. Midnight special editions also include rear park assist and heated, power-adjusted outside rear-view mirrors.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu Chosen as Debut Car of the New Ecotech Engine

 Top 10 in 2010. With a title like that, it’s no surprise that Chevrolet Malibu was selected as the car to represent the first Ecotech engine. You need a great car for a great new upcoming engine. This engine they call the Echotech is a 2.5 cylinder engine that puts out 190 HP and 180 LB-FT of torque. Not only does it have speed to get you going places quickly, but it also has a 30 MPG engine that won’t break your bank at the pump! Mike Anderson, a global engineer says ‘The noise intensity is 40% less than our  2.4L direct-injected engine, which was named one Ward’s 10 Best Engines.’ People that have drove the Malibu with or without the new engine says it gives it a more powerful acceleration which is useful for highway driving. I don’t think titles will stop at ‘top 10 in 2010.’ Sounds like in 2013 we could have the best engine ever seen.  So if you are looking for a new Chevrolet in Seattle or a Chevrolet in Tacoma come see us.

Resetting the Oil Life Monitor In Your Car

Changing your oil is not like how it used to be.  Back in the old days you would check the dip stick every time you filled up with gas.  When 3,000 miles rolled around you changed the oil.  Now ask your 17 year old how to check the oil in their car and most of the time they will point at the engine life monitor on the car.  We rely on electronics to tell you when to change your oil not the regular 3,000-mile approach.  Many people still go by the traditional 3,000 mile approach to change their oil while others follow the oil life monitor system.  We do not suggest one is better then the other but we do agree that changing your oil is important!

The oil life monitor is a great tool to track how much oil you have left remaining in your car.  So if you like to change your oil on your own many people have a hard time finding a way to reset or make the engine oil life monitor light turn off or reset.  Our Quick Lube team down at Art Gamblin Motors Truck Center in Enumclaw was happy to put together two videos on how to update your oil life monitor.

Jordan our Quick Lube Manager demonstrates you how to reset your oil life monitor on the Chevrolets that do not have the four button driver information screens.  If your engine oil light comes on and you have changed your oil Jordan shows you the quick and easy way how to reset the monitor. Put the key in the ignition (do not start the car) push on the gas pedal 3 times, the oil life light will flash a couple of times.  The oil life monitor has been updated.

Kraig a Quick Lube technician shows how to change the oil life monitor in the new Chevrolet’s with the driver information screen that has the four button controls located either on the steering wheel or the dash.  Kraig demonstrates that you need to turn the key over but do not turn the car on, scroll through the vehicle options and find the oil life monitor reading it will give you a percentage of how much oil life you have remaining. While looking at the oil life screen hold the check mark for about 5 seconds and it will update the oil life monitor.
